About the resort
A cozy village in the Kiev region, a green resort rich in forests. Vorzel is very large in area, its structures are scattered throughout the village. They are surrounded by pine forests. In addition to pines, Vorzel is rich in birch trees, oaks and many other trees. Due to the numerous plantings, the air in the village is very clean. It is because of this that Vorzel is called the “Second Kislovodsk”. Vorzel has a temperate continental climate.
During the Soviet era, Vorzel was a very prosperous resort, in which 28 health-improving institutions worked. Among them were both adults and children’s sanatoriums, as well as children’s camps. Unfortunately, after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, and also after the collapse of the Soviet Union, many resort facilities in the towns of Vorzel were closed.
Today, only a few of the sanatoriums in the village of Vorzel remain open. Among them can be noted such as the sanatorium “Star”, “Ukraine”, “Vorzel”, “Victory”, the children’s sanatorium “Kicheevo”. The fate of closed health resorts in Vorzel today has developed in different ways. Some of them, after complete collapse, were sold to private ownership. On their territory are now modern estates of citizens with a high level of income. Some of the former camps of the village of Vorzel today are in ruins and their territory is fenced at best. With the advent of perestroika and the beginning of the development of private business in Vorzel, private enterprises began to operate in some camps. These enterprises were mainly engaged in the food industry. Some of them have ceased to function, some have been successfully operating to date. Vorzel’s enterprises operating today produce: bakery products, mayonnaise, butter, margarine, sausages and other food products. All these enterprises in Vorzel create jobs for local residents.
Despite the fact that many health resorts were closed, several small, modern, private resort establishments appeared in Vorzel, which provide comfortable accommodation for guests. They are located near the Vorzelsky Pond and have good transport links. Vorzel has good conditions for the development of the tourism industry. Forests in the village of Vorzel create special climatic conditions. Clean and fresh air makes Vorzel very attractive for people who want to improve their health. Especially for people with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Thanks to the special air in the urban area Vorzel, it is called “the second Kislovodsk.”
Vorzel is also a popular place for building summer cottages. Now in Vorzel a large number of houses of citizens with a high level of prosperity have been built and are under construction. Houses are being built like castles with a large territory, such structures are mainly located surrounded by forests. Simpler houses are also being built, mostly being built in new territories.
Vorzel has good transport links with Kiev. Electric trains of the Kiev-Teterev, Kiev-Korosten route stop at two stations that are in Vorzel. They are called Vorzel and Kicheevo. “Minibuses” regularly go during the day on the Vorzel-Kiev route with an interval of approximately every 30 minutes. There are also buses running on the Vorzel-Irpin route.
Vorzel has a number of attractions, mostly natural. Vorzel has such main attractions: “Birch Grove”, “Tulip Tree”, “Uvarovsky House”, numerous forest reserves of local importance. A small, almost dried up river Rokach also flows through Vorzel. On this river is the Vorzelsky Pond. The territory of the pond is well arranged. Near the pond there are several restaurants, several small hotels, a beach, as well as a park.
In the town of Vorzel there is a football club “Zirka (Vorzel)”, which plays in the championship of the Kiev region. The team was created quite recently, but has already managed to establish itself as a good football club of regional significance. Zirka plays in the recently reconstructed Vorzel Stadium, which is located near a tulip tree. Until recently, the field was in disrepair; after the reconstruction, a very cozy small stadium turned out to be.
